We hope you’re enjoying your summer so far, Edmonton!
And, what better way to get out and celebrate the warm weather than to hit up one of Edmonton’s (many) fantastic patios? Here are a few of our favourites.
Craft Beer Market
10013-101A Avenue NW
Did someone say rooftop patio?! Craft Beer Market offers one of the best views around! Located in the city’s downtown core, this family-friendly restaurant and bar delivers impressive scenery, great food, and an unparalleled selection of draft beer (the largest in Canada).
1 Thornton Court NW
Riverside Bistro is a hidden gem located in the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel, downtown Edmonton. Offering panoramic views of the North Saskatchewan River Valley, the Bistro allows visitors to dine al fresco come snow or shine, thanks to the restaurant’s unique eat-in outdoor igloos.
El Cortez Mexican Kitchen and Tequila Bar

El Cortez is quickly becoming famous for its distinct character and amazing (authentically Mexican) food. Located just off Whyte Ave near the Old Strathcona Farmer’s Market, hungry (and thirsty) visitors to this one-of-a-kind establishment have their pick of not one, not two, but THREE unique patios. The Black Dog Freehouse
10425 Whyte Avenue
Home to Whyte Ave’s original “Wooftop” patio, the Black Dog features Edmonton’s only 2nd level, full service, garden setting patio. Whether it’s a savoury slice of Shephard’s or Chicken Pot pie, or you’d prefer to indulge your sweet tooth with a little Coconut Cream or Lemon Meringue, Vi’s For Pies has it all (and then some). Here too, the restaurant’s rear terrace is another big draw, thanks to its lush, garden-like setting.
Central Social Hall
10909 Jasper Ave, Edmonton
525 Street Albert Trail #280, St. Albert
We’ve already mentioned Central Social Hall offers one of the best brunches in Edmonton. But did you know its two locations (St. Albert and Downtown) also come equipped with some impressive outdoor space? Jasper Ave’s multi-tiered patio provides plenty of opportunities for pints and people watching. At the same time, St. Albert’s hanging lanterns and indoor-outdoor setting are akin to a backyard get-together with friends.
8217 104th Street NW
Dinner theatre, burlesque, drag, improv, comedy, live music and a fantastic rooftop patio all in one convenient location! Spotlight Cabaret also offers a seasonal, brunch and bottle service menu, all within a showstopping “roaring 20s” setting.
Rocky Mountain Icehouse
10516 Jasper Ave
The Rocky Mountain Icehouse is yet another Jasper Ave favourite. Featuring a boardwalk-style patio and extensive food and drink menus, the Icehouse is the ideal venue for after-work drinks with colleagues, a delicious evening meal, or a casual night out with friends.

From football and baseball to basketball and (of course) hockey, 1st RND shows your favourite sports all year round! But big screens and big sounds aren’t all this sports bar has to offer – in addition to one killer downtown Edmonton patio, they also have the largest and most diverse beer lists in Canada.
Violino’s Gastronomia Italiana
10133 125th Street
Violino occupies an authentic 1913 mansion in the highly sought-after west Edmonton community of Glenora. Rated as one of Canada’s best outdoor dining restaurants, the ristorante offers mouth-watering authentic Italian fare, unbeatable service, and an elegant patio considered to be a real hidden gem.
As a local success story, we’re proud to add this one to the list. First founded in west Edmonton in 2002, the Canadian Brewhouse has since expanded to dozens of locations across the country. In short, their two-storey roof top patios aren’t just popular here in Edmonton, they’re a favourite among Canadians from coast to coast!
