Britannia Youngstown is an older neighbourhood located in mature Northwest Edmonton. With roots dating back to the early 1900s, the community was formerly a part of the Town of Jasper Place. At that time, Britannia and Youngstown were two separate subdivisions; Britannia was established sometime around 1912 and Youngstown many years later during the 1950s (along with Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery). Britannia Youngstown and the rest of the Town of Jasper Place amalgamated with the City of Edmonton in 1964.

10 Minutes to Downtown Edmonton
Britannia Youngstown is defined by Mayfield Road to the west, 107th Ave to the north, 156th Street to the east and Stony Plain Road to the south. Stony Plain Road provides access to the downtown core and the west Anthony Henday, while nearby 170th Street transects Yellowhead Highway to the north and Whitemud Drive to the south. Transit opportunities are also abundant along these two major thoroughfares, with several stops and routes operating throughout the area.
The development of the West Valley LRT line will also see LRT service extended to several communities directly south of Britannia Youngstown.
