York Homes and Real Estate Listings

Development of York homes for sale first began in the 1960s, with row housing—among the first in Edmonton—being made available in lieu of single-detached homes, which at the time weren't feasible for producing quickly and inexpensively enough to meet high demands for housing. It wasn't until later years in the 1970s that construction of homes in the York neighbourhood was completed. Ongoing redevelopment projects have changed the housing options for would-be residents over the years and today York homebuyers will find an equal amount of single-detached and semi-detached homes, and multi-family dwellings in the form of row houses and low-rise condo buildings. There are a number of businesses found in the southeast commercial corner of York, by 66 St NW and 147 Ave NW and the surrounding area. And even the newly-renovated 140-store Londonderry Mall is just westerly adjacent to the neighbourhood, giving everyone in York even more retail options.
