Overlanders Homes and Real Estate Listings
The development of Overlanders, along with those of two other neighbourhoods, was part of the Hermitage plan area. Hermitage's agricultural roots go as far back as 1875 and it was annexed in 1961 to the City of Edmonton. It wasn't until the late 1970's that Overlanders homes for sale began to pop up, when the Hermitage area was subdivided and development concerns over the proximity of industrial plants were finally settled. Housing in Overlanders came in waves. Single-detached homes and some row houses were built during that time, followed by apartment housing and more row houses in the 1980s. Today, access to other Hermitage neighbourhoods (Canon Ridge and Homesteader) is made easy by linked pedestrian and cycling pathways, as well as smaller roads. Homebuyers can also delight in their homes' access to the beautiful river valley at Overlanders' northwest side.
