Balwin Homes and Real Estate Listings

Originally annexed by the City of Edmonton in 1912, and known as Packington at the time due to the local meat packing plants, most of what makes up Balwin real estate today began construction in the 1960’s and finished in the early 1980’s. Comprised mostly of single family bungalows with a small mixture of low-rise apartments and duplexes, the mature landscaping and classical style of the houses attract families of all sizes to this Northeast community. Balwin currently has two public schools serving the area children, Princeton Elementary and Balwin Junior High, and one Catholic school, St. Francis of Assisi Elementary. Shopping, entertainment and dining are close to the area at North Town Mall and Northgate Centre, as well as along the nearby Yellowhead Corridor transportation system that leads to neighboring communities and downtown Edmonton.
