The Northwest Edmonton community of Caernarvon is comprised of all real estate located north of 145th Ave, west of Castle Downs Road and south of 153rd Ave. Like all neighbourhoods in Edmonton’s popular Castle Downs district, Caernarvon takes its name from a famous European castle, in this case, a well-known fortress in Northeast Wales. Commuting From Northwest Edmonton 

Though defined by quiet, residential streets, Caernarvon sits within close proximity to several major Northwest Edmonton thoroughfares. To the east, 97th Street delivers a streamlined commute to the North Anthony Henday, Yellowhead Trail and Central Edmonton (with downtown accessible in under 20 minutes). St. Albert Trail also provides a direct route to the Anthony Henday as well as the City of St. Albert and Groat Road. Finally, many of the area’s major shopping, entertainment and recreational amenities can be found along nearby 137th Ave.

Residents relying on transit can take advantage of the many routes and stops that define the community as well as the nearby Castle Downs Transit Centre. Future LRT expansion plans will also include the community of Caernarvon.

Did you know? Edmonton’s Metro LRT line extension will include two stops in Caernarvon, including one on Castle Downs Road and a second stop along 153rd Ave. Those living in the Northwest Caernarvon will also have convenient access to a third stop in the neighbouring community of Baranow.
